Description

Class Experience

In this class, students will learn how to create their own design (or use a pre-purchased design from Design Space) to create their own Cricut ornament for the holidays.

In this class, students will work in their own design space while the teacher demonstrates how to create and size the ornament for their ornament, as well as how to transfer (for vinyl).

Students will learn to create ornaments of their own choosing through this project.  Students will learn how to apply to a curved surface (if using a rounded ornament), cut cardstock (if using cardstock), and how to transfer vinyl to surfaces.

I have been a teacher for 10 years, working with students as young as pre-school and through college, and have been a home business owner for 3 years. I have used the Cricut for many different items in my shop, along with personal daily uses, and even in my classroom. I currently host many flex classes for the Cricut for creation of various projects. I love teaching friends and family how to make new items, along with sharing my designs with others. I teach simplistically to optimize learning in an explained step-by-step approach so users can follow along and complete the tasks with me.

Students may finish incomplete projects outside of class time

Basic Requirements:
Cricut Machine (I will be modeling with the Cricut Maker)
Standard grip/light grip mats (standard grip will be used for many projects, light grip is optional for cardstock but not necessary)
Weeding Tools

Optional materials:
Vinyl /Transfer Paper (if using Vinyl, Transfer paper is necessary)
Round Ornament
Cardstock
Thin Cardboard or wood (must be designed for cricit)
Appropriate blades (if not using vinyl)

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Cricut Design Space

No assessment

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

Students are able to purchase from Cricut Design Space, so please monitor student interactions with Design Space or have project chosen ahead of time to avoid accidental purchases.  Students will also be working with the Cricut, which does have sharp tools and cutting devices. Please monitor for usage and review safety practices prior to class.

Students will use Cricut Design Space for this activity.
