Christmas Origami: Fold a Santa, Reindeer, and Tree
What's included

50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time beginner class, students will learn origami and fold paper to create 3 easy designs. They'll create a Santa, reindeer, and tree. If the student is new to origami and doesn't have origami paper, they can fold white copy paper. The designs turn out great with white copy paper decorated with coloring. Students can also use gift wrap (I suggest plain on the back, no grid lines). If you prefer, origami paper can be purchased online at Michaels, Amazon, and Target. (I suggest one-sided origami paper so the Santa's face is plain and can be colored.) I used 6" square one-sided origami paper. Students will need four 6" squares of paper to make the three designs. (The Santa and tree need one 6" square for each, the reindeer needs two 6" squares.) They can bring multiple papers to class if they want to make more of each design. Students will also need crayons, markers or colored pencils to decorate the faces and draw ornaments. Students will need a glue stick to glue the reindeer. I'll have examples to show students how they can use each design as ornaments, gift tags, magnets, decorations for a handmade card, or a picture. The extra items student would need if they want to extend their artwork include: * ribbon, string, yarn or ornament hooks if they want their Santa to become an ornament. * tape or glue and a magnet to be a holiday magnet. * construction paper or copy paper if they want to make cards or pictures.
Learning Goals
