Christmas in July Summer Camp: Making Christmas Ornaments and Gifts #creative

Do you love and look forward to Christmas? In this week long camp learners will enjoy making Christmas ornaments and decorations that you can use for your own home and give as gifts. We will also have a bonus gift wrapping tutorial!

Class Experience

In this fun summer camp, learners will enjoy bringing a little  holiday fun into their summer! In this 5 day camp, we will make ornaments and decorations you can use for your own family or make for gifts. We will also have a bonus giftwrapping tutorial so you can have your creations all wrapped and ready to go! The class will feature 4 different Christmas crafts. Learners will be able to ask questions and receive help as they work. Sharing our creations will build social and public speaking skills.
Monday: Rag wreath ornament You will need a 5" inch embroidery hoop and 1/yard of fabric
Tuesday: Cinnamon stick Christmas tree ornaments. Supplies, fabric in 2 or three patterns (fat quarters are a great option!) 2 yards of ribbon
Wednesday: Sock Snowman You neeed a white sock, 3 cups of rice, a decorative or fuzzy sock, rhinestone stickers for eyes, pom poms, buttons and markers for embellishment, 2 rubber bands and fabric glue
Thursday: Felt hand-sewn stand up trees felt in colors of your choice, hand sewing needles, DMC floss to coordinate, a dowel stick, a jar or tin can, a small piece of floral foam, ribbon, glue buttons or stick on stones, 
Friday: Gift wrapping 101 a few small boxes, wrapping paper, scissors, tape and old cards, craft paper, ribbon or twine
The skill level for sewing is absolute beginner  hand sewing skills.

Students will use fine motor skills to create crafts.

Parental Guidance
Parents may want to monitor use of scissors and help with threading needles.

Hi, my name is Miss Angie! I am a teacher of 20+ years. I follow a Charlotte- Mason/Waldorf inspired teaching philosophy and love teaching poetry, literature and handcrafts such as cross stich, embroidery, sewing and crochet. I am also passionate about tea and poetry tea times for a variety of age groups. I love allowing young minds to explore their creativity and believe in hands on/student led education.I believe in music and art as foundations for learning. 
 
I have a BA in Speech and Drama with a minor in English and have taught music and theatre in addition to Language Arts , history and elementary school.

I'm also a mom of two fantastic daughters. The other love of my life is an adorable little Pomklee named Hunter.
