In this one time class the teacher will introduce students to Christmas in England. Students will learn new vocabulary and practice reading and writing new words as well as learn new information. Then, students will locate England on a map of the world and be encouraged to draw a picture of themselves on a map of England. Students will then use their knowledge of England and new vocabulary words to read a math problem. After reading the question students will become problem solvers to find a...
Learners will be able to: -explain how Christmas is celebrated in England -where England is located on a map of the world -read and spell words that were used in the passage about Christmas in England -solve a math word problem related to Christmas in England -write a sentence (or draw a picture for early writers)
I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach in grades k-6. I am also Reading Endorsed and ESOL (English as a second language) Endorsed. This is my 8th year of teaching. I have taught first, second, and fifth grade.
Your child will need: -a pencil -paper -crayons -math tools to count (cheerios, counters, toys)
During the class the teacher will make observations about the students reading, writing, speaking, and math abilities and provide feedback to the parent.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
