Class Experience

During this fun, and easy story and slime class, students will hear a holiday-themed story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, play a game, and make slime.
First we will hear the story,
then we will play Guess The Holiday Word
then we will make slime. I will explain how to make the slime as we go.
I am an upbeat and patient teacher. Learners will have many chances to interact through questions after the story, and then again as we play the game and work on our slime. There is no required experience, except to listen to a story and follow instructions.
This class is the same as the third day of the week-long Christmas story and craft camp that I offer.

Parental Guidance
Please tell students that the slime is not edible.
Supply List
Tide brand liquid laundry detergent,
Elmer's white glue
Optional sequins or glitter. The slime will be a light blue, but if you want it green I suggest yellow or green food coloring.
It is IMPORTANT that the detergent be Tide brand as that is the only one that has worked for me.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach Reading, Grammar, History and have: taught full-time, and worked as a substitute teaching many different subjects in classes from Kinder to 12th grade. My majors in college ranged from Child Development, to Theater Arts, to English, and an additional History minor. In addition to teaching I am a published author. My philosophy of teaching is that we are all life-long learners and we never stop learning. To that end, every lesson should fun and enjoyable, while teaching, and/or learning, something new. The students should have fun while they learn, as that's the way we learn the most.
