Class Experience

BRING A LEARNER, get $5 off your next class!

In this ongoing class, your child will learn to draw winter animals through directed drawing on the front of a card. After we have drawn the animal of the week, I will share some fun facts about the animal’s habits, habitat, diet, etc. Then, we will add a cute, Christmas-y phrase to the front of the card. Lastly, learners will render (color) their animal and give it a background that matches our holiday theme.

My goal for your child’s art experience is easily summed up in one word—fun! I believe that art is for everyone. Anyone can draw, anyone can create, anyone can imagine. Sometimes, though, students can become intimidated by art. This can happen because of criticism, comparison to other students, or even an older sibling excelling. My desire is for those hurdles to be dismantled by giving learners a relaxed, no-judgement, exciting art experience.

My goal for your child’s class experience is to show them how great it can feel to show love and Christmas cheer to others. We will create Christmas cards with the intention of giving the cards away. Art is meant to be shared!

I will be present the whole time. The drawing portion will be teacher-led, while the writing and rendering portions will be student-directed.

Learners will be able to interact with me freely throughout the lesson. I want to encourage appropriate conversation and interaction between me and other learners. If you have a shy child, they can communicate with me through the Zoom chat box all throughout the lesson.

To be able to complete this class, learners should be able to:
1. name and say the sound of all the letters of the alphabet.
2. read basic CVC words (dog, cat, sit, etc.).
3. write letters consecutively to form words.

Hi! I’m Ms. Abbey.
I teach kids to love art through animals, travel, and step-by-step instruction.

I truly believe art class is for EVERYONE, not just the natural artist. The scientist, nature-lover, athlete, wanna-be vet, and gamer can all find fun and a sense of accomplishment in art.

That’s why I’ve made my brand ARTventurous Animals.

My classes are engaging, full of animals and adventure, and uncomplicated 🎨

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and have taught in a brick-and-mortar classroom for 4 years. But even after substituting, teaching 3rd grade, teaching Kindergarten, and teaching English in Thailand, being an online art teacher has been my favorite! I now have 3 years of online teaching experience.

I believe children should be guided to be their best self. This means creating extra tasks for gifted students, challenging the average, and reaching out and individually assisting the reluctant learners. I also believe that art is for everyone! Anyone can draw, anyone can create, anyone can imagine.

A fun fact about me is that I live in Bangkok, Thailand! I have also been to 18 countries on 3 different continents.

My husband and I have 2 wonderful little kids. They're the reason I’ve chosen to be an online teacher and stay-at-home mom.

My ARTventurous Animals brand has lots more than just classes! Check it out here--> https://artventurousanimals.com/
