Queue the holiday music, the smell of apple cider and twinkling lights all around! It's the Christmas season. A time of excitement and anticipation. In this 1-week holiday camp, we meet daily to create something special for the season. While using materials to craft one of a kind treats, students will work together to build friendships through conversation and engagement. I can picture it now...lively music plays in the background, students share what they're looking forward to during the holidays, all while we enjoy the company of others and create beautiful crafts to place around the house or share with friends and family. The week will cover: MONDAY: Make handmade gift toppers/bows TUESDAY: Learn to make pomanders, while also learning a little about their history WEDNESDAY: Create "cookies in a jar" to use at home or give as gifts THURSDAY: Design a 3D Nutcracker craft FRIDAY: Cinnamon applesauce ornaments NOTE: for certain activities (Nutcracker) the teacher will provide a template that may be printed or traced prior to class. In addition, Friday's applesauce mixture will need to be made ahead of time and refrigerated at least 1 hour before class. Please see the class supply list to ensure that your student is prepared for class each day. I can't wait to get in to the holiday spirit during our week of holiday magic! See you there.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello & welcome to Outschool! My name is Suzi and I'm excited to share a bit about myself.
I am a former elementary school teacher turned homeschooling mom. I have a background in Literacy education and find joy in teaching new things and helping students discover their interests through content and instruction. I think it's important to engage students through storytelling, example and hands on experiences.
As a teacher, I've taught everything from pre-school through high school grades and across all content areas. My favorite subjects to teach are history and math and I have a serious love of language and how to use it, whether it be through writing, speaking or problem solving.
My family and I live in Wisconsin. We have 3 children and 3 dogs (2 guinea pigs and a rabbit) and are originally from the East Coast...but are starting to realize we're destined to be midwesterners! I hope to see you in class soon!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or suggestions you might have for classes. I love teaching with Outschool and can't wait to meet your student.
Thank you,
Miss Suzi
