Christmas Chit-Chat!

Hi, I'm Ms. Amanda! I'm so excited to offer vocabulary classes, spelling classes, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to families here on Outschool!

I am a certified teacher who has been teaching learners ages 3 - 15 for the last 13 years. I started my teaching career in preschool, as the lead teacher, for two years. After that, I moved into teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for three years in an elementary setting and one year at a middle school. Afterwards, I transitioned to teaching online after becoming a mom! I have taught English to learners from all over the world. During my English classes, I've had the privilege of teaching over 5,000 students during approximately 15,000 classes, and accumulated over 2,000 parent followers! Since then I have continued teaching ESL, and I have had the privilege of teaching for some amazing organizations on Outschool where I have taught various subjects including ELA, math, grammar, science, geography, book clubs, writing classes, and animal classes too!

My Bachelor's degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Master's degree in Classroom Technology. I am an ESL Specialist and also hold 120-hour internationally recognized TESOL and TEFL certificates.

I find my kind and upbeat personality allows me to connect with my students and better engage with them in my classroom. I believe when learners feel more comfortable and welcomed in their environment, they will become more active in their learning! I love connecting with my students as they begin to express themselves more freely in class and take their learning to the next level!

When I am not teaching online, I am homeschooling my son! I enjoy spending time with my family, and taking care of my little "zoo" including dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish! I love swimming, and cheering on my son at his various activities!
