Students in this class will learn how to create their own Christmas paintings. During this class, we will learn how to use lines to create shapes and textures. This class will be structured informally. Students will be encouraged to be creative and to socialize throughout the lesson. I will teach using a demonstration format. My teaching style is laid back. Learners will get to interact with me and the other students throughout the lesson. The only requirement for interaction is that all exchanges must be respectful of all class members. There is no prior experience needed.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to use lines to create shapes and textures in an acrylic Christmas-themed painting. In order to promote creativity, they will be encouraged to add their own creative details while we paint and socialize.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
While the class is creating a Christmas painting, the teacher will not discuss Christmas outside of the context of the painting. If acrylic paints are used, please note that they do not wash out of clothing if they get on clothing.
Supply List
Canvas, cardstock, or art paper Pencil Paints- please allow the child to select the colors in order to promote creativity Paintbrushes Pallett, paper plate, egg carton to use to blend paints on Paper towel Cup of water And most importantly... a smile
