Christmas art camp is 3 days of creative fun, just like summer camp, but with a side of gingerbread and a peppermint stick! In this 3 day, fun and engaging art camp style class kids build creative thinking, collaborative and social skills. Each day we will work together to brainstorm ideas together for Christmas imagery that will put us all in the holiday spirit! Day 1: Oh Christmas Tree kicks off our camp! We'll talk about different decorating traditions in history while we create a watercolor Christmas tree winter wonderland Day 2: Gingerbread day, students will chat about gingerbread house designs then we'll use create a faux stained glass version of our sweet designs. If time allows, I'll share my secret for making and easy alternative to gingerbread ornaments. Day 3: Christmas camp wraps up with a kids creating a unique nutcracker complete with shiny boots and buckles

Parental Guidance
Parents please be advised that the day 2 project will require a final step after class that will require adult assistance. Instructions will be posted in the classroom.

Day 1: watercolor paper watercolor paint brush water glue glitter Day 2: Copy paper black permanent marker markers scissors baby oil clean sponge or cotton balls Day 3: 9x12 or 12x18 white or black paper oil pastels or crayons glitter glue *if you are using crayons rather than oil pastels, please use white paper
