Class Experience

There are many mathematical concepts that may come up as we work on the problem, depending on the examples students come up with and their prior knowledge. Some concepts include: square numbers, prime factorizations, parity (even and odd), divisibility and remainders, area and perimeter, induction and recursion, problem solving strategies, and proofs.
I taught K-12 math for ten years, in both classroom and enrichment settings. Then over the past five years, I've completed my PhD in math, where my research is in geometry and topology. Encouraging mathematical curiosity and helping people to have positive math experiences are my passions.
Some extension problems will be offered at the end of class as takeaways.
Please bring some paper and some writing utensils!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
