In this class, we will discuss what alcohol does to our brains and our bodies. We will talk about the dangers that accompany the misuse of alcohol and how underage drinking can seriously and permanently impact a teen's young life, reputation, future and immediate family. Pre-teens and many teens do not drive as yet, but they are too often faced with the decision of getting into a car with a driver who has been drinking. We will talk about options for how our pre-teens and teens can return home safely from a party, so that they do not become victims of a car crash.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the dangers of drinking alcohol. We will discuss life-altering consequences that can and do happen as the direct result of drinking alcohol.

Discussing pre-teen and teen drinking is never easy. Nowadays, adolescents are faced with the temptations to drink alcohol at increasingly young ages, often as early as the 5th grade! As parents, we need to be open and honest about the dangers of drinking alcohol. Pre-teens and teens - who too often believe they are mature enough to handle an unsupervised party! - need to hear deadly statistics and see graphic images of car crash scenes to begin to understand the possible consequences of drinking alcohol.
