In this class we will have some fun exploring shapes in our everyday environment and using descriptive words to talk about them. Students are encouraged to bring examples of shapes to share with the class! Our focus will be on circles, squares, triangles and rectangles but other shapes are welcome for show and tell. Students are also encouraged to bring examples of trains to share with the class since we will be making an edible train as a snack as well as a paper train. The suggested food for our train snack are listed below but other items that can be used are absolutely fine! I have also attached a train worksheet for us to work on together (if time permits). Since I have a 5 and 7 yr old (ASK ME ABOUT SIBLING DISCOUNTS!) and my teaching background is Preschool/Kindergarten, I know how important it is to have interactive classes! I have designed all of them to be fun and engaging for young learners. We will listen, share, read and learn together all while having fun! These classes also provide a great opportunity for some social interaction with age-appropriate peers.

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa and I reside in the Lone Star State also known as Texas. I am a graduate of Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. I also received my Master of Education degree from The University of Texas. I love working with Preschool and Elementary aged students that are at all ability levels! Special Education still holds a dear place in my heart and was my focus during college and graduate school. I am currently a stay at home mom of two young sons but before that, I worked for 13 years in a public elementary school. I taught PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities) for 3 years and Kindergarten for 10 years until I had my first son. Currently, I am an online ESL teacher and have been with the company since the summer of 2019. I enjoy helping teach students English! I am TEFL certified as well.
My passion for teaching came from having a younger brother with special needs. I loved working with him to help make his life as best as our family could. He is the reason I chose the major I did. Along my journey to becoming a teacher, I realized how much I enjoyed working with young children and helping them learn as much as they can to succeed. When I am not teaching students online or my boys at home, I enjoy traveling, reading, dancing and being active with my family. I am so honored to be an Outschool Teacher and appreciative of this opportunity. I welcome you to follow my profile for upcoming classes and please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or comments. I am truly looking forward to teaching your child(ren) and am excited to share my love of learning with each student! In my classroom, every student is a STAR!
