In this 8-week course students will read through the story in pairs and choose their adventure as they go.
Class experience
In this series of courses we will be reading some online Choose Your Adventure stories in Simplified Chinese. This course is the easiest and only requires students know 250 characters while other stories need 350-600 characters to be able to work through them. The story for this course will be Who Murdered Mayor Li, a Murder Mystery set in a mansion. There will be a number of characters who need to be interviewed to find clues and establish alibies. 1. Students will practice using their reading skills. 2. Students will learn new vocabulary. 3. Students will practice using deduction to solve the mystery.
I have a Masters Degree in Education. I lived in China for 4 years and have been learning Chinese since 2012. I have been teaching Chinese since 2016 and I especially like using Choose Your Adventure stories to teach reading so I have done these stories a lot.
Homework Offered
Students will be asked to review any new vocabulary they wrote down before the next class0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
