Happy Halloween! Wansheng jie Kuaile! In this class, we will 1. Make your Halloween crafts 2. Learn a Halloween song in Chinese We will be learning a song called Halloween is coming in Chinese. (万圣节来了wanshengjie lai le! ) we will learn some traditions for Halloween, such as carve pumpkins, costumes, and treats. We will discuss what things you like to do during Halloween! 3. Go to a virtual haunted house 4. Learn some new vocabulary words in Chinese There will be worksheets available for you, you can download or print them before our class. If you could have a piece of paper and crayons, or color pencils available for the lesson, that would be great! The goal of this class is to strengthen their Chinese language skills, enjoy drawing, and make connections with the vocabulary words and with others. I have found teaching using strategies that employ multiple intelligences is the key to learning. In my classrooms, students learn through visual, music, language, and kinetic movements. Drawing helps learners focus and connect the words with their visual images.
