Chinese Chicken Salad

Students will learn to make a crispy, crunchy, colorful Chinese Chicken salad that is often found at restaurants. My 4 children say they could eat this salad every day of their lives, it -is-that-good. Come cook and learn with me!

Class Experience

In this hands-on cooking class, students will follow along with me, step by step as we: 
1) Shred lettuce and cabbage, dice cilantro and green onion 
2) Shred chicken (you can also replace it with Tofu)
3) Combine and mix together ingredients for a sweet Asian flavored salad dressing. 
4) Crush ingredients for a crunchy salad topping



This class is inclusive, which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure that they have the best possible class experience.
Learning Goals
In this interactive cooking class, students will create a cool and refreshing Chinese Chicken Salad that is popular in the Hawaiian Islands. Throughout the class students will be learning basic kitchen skills such as measuring, slicing, shredding, tearing and mixing.

Bowl for dressing.  OR.....A  pint-size Mason for dressing.  (Take my word!! You will want to double  or  triple this  recipe  for  later  use) 
1/4 Head  white cabbage
1/4 Head purple cabbage
1/2-1 whole Romaine lettuce  
1 large Carrot
1-2 cooked Chicken breast (Optional)
Toasted Sesame Oil
Sugar
Apple cider vinegar
Black pepper
Cilantro
Green  onion
Crispy wonton salad topping Or DIY! Slice uncooked wonton wrappers into thin strips,  have adult fry until crispy!  Refrigerate after cooling.
