Description
Class Experience
Each themed class will include yoga poses designed for children, games, songs, and a story, ending with a meditation related to the theme. A sample Children's Yoga Story Time will focus on the book "Is There Really a Human Race", by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell. As the theme is cooperation and embracing differences, we will focus on yoga poses, games, and meditation that relate to those themes. No prior experience with yoga is necessary. Children will have the opportunity to...
Yoga provides physical benefits of strength and flexibility and improves gross and fine motor skills. Yoga can increase confidence and creativity and reduce stress and anxiety. Children will be able to use what they learn in class in their lives. In addition, the story and songs will increase literacy skills.
I hold a Children's Yoga Teacher certificate through YogaRenew, which is approved through Yoga Alliance, which governs yoga certifications in the United States. In addition, I am a Librarian and have led many story times for children.
A yoga mat is suggested but not necessary.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents should supervise to make sure children are following instructions so they do not injure themselves.
