In this one-time class, students will learn and review basic French vocabulary in context and as related to the story (Bonsoir Lune - Goodnight Moon). Students will not be required to already know French vocabulary. Reading strategies will include vocabulary introduced with pictures, repetition, and oral question and response exercises. I will do comprehension checks as I read the story to the students. Students will also have the opportunity to read aloud. Learning through stories is fun and engaging, which in turn helps to retain new knowledge. This class provides a positive and encouraging environment for students to learn and speak beginning French. Class Structure: ~ Introduce vocabulary with flashcards ~ Teacher reads aloud story in French using screen share with document camera ~ Comprehension checks asking for English meanings of French words ~ Students read aloud story in French using teacher's screen share
