Class Experience
In this one-time class, students will learn and review basic French vocabulary in context and as related to the story (Bonsoir Lune - Goodnight Moon). Students will not be required to already know French vocabulary. Reading strategies will include vocabulary introduced with pictures, repetition, and oral question and response exercises. I will do comprehension checks as I read the story to the students. Students will also have the opportunity to read aloud. Learning through stories is fun...
Bonsoir Lune (Goodnight Moon) • Basic greetings, personal and household items found in the story (day/night, sun/moon, and more).
I am offering this particular class because it is enjoyable to learn through stories. I am a good teacher for this class because I have 23 years experience as a French teacher as well as a doctorate in education administration. I have a current teaching certificate, have lived in France, and have attended a French University. My personal experience is full of reading stories to engage students, children and grandchildren.
There is no assigned homework.
I have a copy of the book that will be shown during the class as well as other teaching materials. (The book can be purchased at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/2211072933/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is only informal assessment through ongoing comprehension checks allowing for correction as needed.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
