This fluency-based beginning conversation club is geared towards learners who have done self-study (Duolingo, etc) and those who have dabbled with formal Spanish class. We will focus on the foundations of "chit chat" in a relaxed and positive environment. Through a mixture of gestures, translation, and slow Spanish, students will be introduced to and practice basics such as introductions, backgrounds, emotions, weather, and simple plans. We will also practice asking questions. Depending on the age and comfort level of the learners, classes may extend out 5 additional minutes at the end. I can't wait to meet you! Hasta pronto, Profe :)

Parental Guidance
Fluency in a foreign language refers to the ability to spontaneously converse on a wide variety of subjects, without much strain on either side. It also means that you are quick to improvise and can circumlocute with ease when your vocabulary or knowledge is lacking. I believe fluency comes from sufficient input (listening/reading).
Language of Instruction
Spanish
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Missouri Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language
I am a career-certified k-12 Spanish teacher. My home is bilingual/bicultural and I am offering this class to help build conversational fluency among young Spanish learners and bicultural children who desire a safe space to make mistakes as they become confident speakers. I believe that the ability to listen to and be understood in a language that is not your own profoundly connects us to the world at large. Inspiring and equipping young people to take travel that path is part of my calling and my way of changing our world for the better.
