In this class, we will explore Child Development theories- Piaget, Vygotsky, and Erickson. The class will be structured with lectures, interactive discussions, at-home readings and optional at-home written assignments. Mrs. Kira Kjaersgaard has a M.A. Educational Psychology in Early Childhood Education and a B.A. in Child Development. She, also, has a Post-B.A. Certificate in Infant Toddler Family Mental Health. Mrs. K has completed nine years of higher education herself at the university level in child development and developmental psychology. She has worked in various settings including child care, elementary, at-home programs with children of all developmental ages and stages. Most recently, she worked with children birth to 3 years old with developmental delays providing early intervention and parent coach (how to play with your baby to encourage development).
