In this one-time phonics class, beginning readers or ESL learners will experience an interactive read-aloud story called Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. After the read-aloud, we will practice the lowercase letters a-z with a craft activity.

Class Experience
Students will learn and practice reading an interactive story called Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to reinforce phonemic awareness. We will learn to identify each letter and the sound it makes. To also promote their fine motor skills, students will also practice the lowercase letters a to z with an exciting craft activity by sticking letters on a tree. I have a Master’s degree in Literacy and I’ve been teaching phonics and reading for ten years.
Encourage your child to identify and sound out each letter to aid their letter/sound retention skills.

Parents, use any materials you have available to you for the follow items:- ✔️ Cutout a few green palm tree leaves and glue it or staple it on the top of the tree (toilet or paper towel roll) to have it ready for the activity. ✔️ Stickers: Capital or Lowercase letters a to z ***Don't have the supplies? No problem! Pick one option from these alternatives.*** • Write out the letters on a piece of paper. (That way, your child can point to them.) OR • Write out letters and cut them out. (That way, your child can find them and show it.) OR • Bring an alphabet book so your child can show them.
