Class Experience
This is my 23rd year as an elementary teacher and course instructor. In addition, I teach various elective and chess courses for children at a local university. Over the years, I presented at several conferences and local seminars. I hold a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Master's of Library Science degree. In 2011, I obtained a principal certification. Chess Instruction: 21 years coaching chess. Studied under a master chess player. I have taught over 1,000 students and 600 teachers chess basics via online and face to face classes. I will bring my knowledge and love of the game to each class. Your child will become a better chess player by Week 3.
Students will need a Chess Federation board or something similar. I will provided several learning documents that parents can download and use with their child. I will offer several book recommendations that parents can purchase.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
