Class Experience

Welcome to the Chess Social Club!

The purpose of this on-going class is to create a friendly social environment whereby learners can play chess and share their knowledge of chess. Therefore, every week, we will usually warm up with solving puzzles collectively, discuss any new strategies/openings that learners may have learnt throughout the week, and then proceed to play friendlies in either a single or tournament format. We normally play Chess Arena mode on Chess.com. You can find more info on Chess Arena here: https://support.chess.com/article/335-what-are-arena-tournaments

Based on the rating requirements mentioned in the class summary above, learners are expected to know the following:

-Basic chess rules
-Understand chess piece movements

*Chess will be played on 'Chess.com'. It is required that learners sign up (it is free) before they attend the class. I will provide a link to the sign up page in the classroom page.*
