Intermediate Level
This class is for students who know the basics of the game of chess. This is to develop their skills further in the game and ensure that they can participate in a few tournaments. As we delve deeper into the game, we will learn how each piece is vital and moves. Apart from reading the board and predicting, students will focus on chapters that entail: 1. Activity of pieces - how each piece can be utilised better for the game 2. Targets of attack - what should be our target during the attack. There can be different purpose for different kind of attacks 3. Double attack: queen 4. The pin 5. Eliminating of the defence 6. The 3 golden rules 7. Double attack: RBNKp 8. Discovered attack 9. Defending against mate 10.The intermediate move These chapters will be covered one at a time during the class. The learners will play the game with the teacher. Notation and various puzzles will also be used to ensure that the students understand the chess moves and the concept of each chapter.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the double attack, elimination fo defences, the 3 golden rules and defending against mate.
