Class Experience
Puzzles are the single best way to improve your chess. Students usually need guidance and encouragement to approach and sustain the detailed problem solving necessary to work on chess puzzles. That's what we do in this class! Using the advanced puzzle features on Chess.com we work on tactics together. I pick a theme and adjust the rating range based on the student's level. We discuss pros and cons of different ideas, practice pattern recognition, and stretch our ability to calculate a...
I encourage students to continue working on puzzles independently after class. I am always happy to help parents find excellent sources of puzzles in books and websites.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
