In this ongoing, twice a week course, we will play real games of chess with each other, picking up where we left off from session to session. We play for pure fun, meaning there is no tournament or scoring.
Class experience
This social chess club is for players of all skill-levels that already are familiar with how the game is played. If your child still needs to learn the mechanics of how to play chess, I do offer 1:1 tutoring, and the occasional camps for that. We play on a Google Slides presentation created by myself where each person drags their pieces on the board. A "Go" button is moved to indicate when your turn is over. On-topic talking is allowed, questions are encouraged, but it's still a game...
I want my students to learn: 1. The value of LOSING. When you lose a game, you were taught something, and get the opportunity to grow! 2. The love of playing chess; so valuable 3. Strategies to help them improve their game of course!
