Beginner - Advanced Level
(Kind Reminder - This is a self-paced course with instructional videos and chess homework puzzles to help develop a chess tactical mindset. There are no live meetings with the instructor)

In this self-paced course, chess students will embark on a journey to develop a sharp tactical mindset and significantly reduce the number of blunders in their games. Each lesson is designed to help you recognize common pitfalls and tactical opportunities, with engaging lessons that break down complex ideas into easy-to-understand concepts. You'll practice identifying threats, understanding key tactical motifs, and refining your decision-making process to minimize errors. 

Through interactive exercises, real-game examples, and practical tips, you'll gain the confidence to play with precision and foresight, turning potential blunders into winning strategies.

Lesson One: Understanding Common Blunders
 This video will cover the most common types of blunders beginners and intermediates make, such as leaving pieces unprotected, falling for simple tactics like forks and pins, and missing simple checkmates. The goal is to help students recognize patterns in their own play where they are most likely to blunder.

 This video will focus on improving tactical awareness through practice and pattern recognition. Students will learn to spot common tactical motifs like forks, pins, and skewers, and will be encouraged to solve tactical puzzles regularly to sharpen their skills. This is aimed at the Beginner Level

All lessons use chess.com however student does not require chess.com to participate in self-paced course. Lichess.org and chess.com are good resources for developing a tactical mindset.
Pre-Requisites
Knowledge of the names of the pieces and how they move is the only prerequisite.
