Chess Crash Course
In this 5 week Chess Course, students will learn the Rules and Basics of Chess, Opening Principles, Middle Game Tactics, and Endgame Strategies, and The Scholar's Mate and Other Tricks.

This Crash Course is 5 Sessions: 1. Rules and Foundations 2. Opening Principles 3. Middle Game Tactics 4. Endgame Patterns 5. Scholar's Mate and Other Traps The first session will be a review of the rules and foundations of Chess. In session 2, 3, and 4 students will learn best practice in each part of a chess game (beginning, middle, and endgame), finally the last lesson teaches a fun trick for how to beat unsuspecting opponents in four moves. Objective: Students will deepen their knowledge of Chess in the areas of Opening Principles, Middlegame Tactics, and common Checkmate patterns. Success Criteria: -Students will have a deeper understanding of Chess foundations -Students will learn the 3 main principles to starting a game. -Students will learn the 5 best tactics to gaining an advantage in the Middle Game -Students will learn 3 common Checkmate Patterns for the endgame. -Students will learn how to attack with and defend against the Scholar's Mate
