First Class: The Foundation
Every chess player is unique, and so is their journey. In our first class together, we'll lay the foundation for your success:

Assessment of Fundamentals: We'll review essential concepts like piece movement, check/checkmate, castling, and the point system. This isn't just a refresher; it's about ensuring you have a solid grasp of the game's core principles.

Playing Ability Analysis: You'll be paired against a 'bot' through a shared screen on Zoom. This isn't a test; it's an opportunity for me to observe your playing style and understand what areas you need help with.

Why start this way? By learning about your individual strengths and weaknesses, I can create a tailored lesson plan that meets you exactly where you are. This ensures that our journey together is both efficient and effective.

Your learning path will include, but is not limited to:

Progress Tracking with 'Bots'
Your progression isn't just about learning new skills; it's about applying them. In this class, your improvement will be tracked based on the 'bots' you play. Successfully defeat a bot without my help, and you'll move onto a stronger one. If unsuccessful, don't worry! We will analyse the game together and mark key areas that require improvement.
