In this ongoing chess club, learners will practice strategic thinking, problem solving, and social conversation skills while playing one of the world's greatest games.

Class experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will increase their skill in chess and, through playing, improve their strategic thinking. They will learn to both win and lose politely and with dignity.  
I have been teaching students how to play chess and managing middle school chess clubs for over a decade, with a special focus on gifted learners, students on the autism spectrum, and providing a space for LQBTQ+ students.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Parents must create a Chess.com account for their child to play.
I will post links to recommended lessons in the Chess.com learning and puzzle library each week.
