This is a Chess Club for kids that want to play against others and get to know fellow players. I will monitor the games and coach moves as needed. Players should already know how to play and have their own chessboard. Players should know the grid, but I will include it in the materials section and coach it to first-timers. Calling coordinates is how the Chess Federation operates so it's a good thing to know. Practice makes perfect! Students become more confident. I will encourage participation in tournaments and other chess clubs. With enough players, we will rotate and have tournaments. AGE RANGE IS FLEXIBLE

Supply List
A grided chessboard is strongly recommended. Amazon has one (magnetic- so oopsies are less!) for 15$ However, if students already have a board, they can simply write the coordinates on the sides.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
