Week 1Lesson 1The Chessboard, Rules and Starting PositionsLesson 1 is about understanding the different rules in the game, as well as exploring the chessboard such as; files, ranks and co-ordinates.Week 2Lesson 2How the Pawn Moves and CapturesLesson 2 explores the pawn, and understanding how it moves around the chessboard and how it captures.Week 3Lesson 3How the Rook and Bishop Moves/CapturesLesson 3 explores the Rook and the Bishop. We explore how they both move around chessboard and how they capture.Week 4Lesson 4How the Queen and Knight Moves/CapturesLesson 4 explores the Queen and the Knight. We explore how they both move around chessboard and how they capture.Week 5Lesson 5How the King Moves/Captures - Check and CheckmateLesson 5 explores the King, how it moves and captures. It also explores concepts such as 'Check' and 'Checkmate'.Week 6Lesson 6En Passant and CastlingLesson 6 explores the pawn's special trick called En Passant.
