Class Experience

In this one time class, young chefs will create a Pretty Cherry Cream Cheese Danish Ring. Due to the sweet fillings and beautiful presentation, this dish is perfect for a fancy breakfast or a beautiful dessert. We will use simple ingredients to assemble this dish. During class, we will have a short introduction of learners, a review of materials and ingredients, and then we will dive into the recipe! I will be actively making and demonstrating the recipe as we go, students will be able to actively ask questions as we go. There may be some time at the end of class for learners to socialize with other learners. During this class, we will do everything to prepare the recipe and it will be put in the oven during the class, but will be finished when class is over. No previous experience is required, but a knowledge of how to use an oven, hand mixer, and general kitchen ingredients and utensils is helpful.

Cherry Cream Cheese Danish Ring--Serves 6+ hungry people!
2 cans Crescent Rolls
8 oz softened Cream Cheese
21 oz Cherry Pie Filling
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tbsp Milk
Nonstick cooking spray 

Materials
1 Round baking/pizza pan
1 medium sized bowl 
1 electric hand/stand mixer 
1 spoon
1 fork
1 small bowl
1/2 cup dry measuring cup
1 teaspoon measuring spoon
1 Tablespoon measuring spoon
rubber spatula
oven mitts
oven access required 

Optional: Apron and Chef's Hat

Hello there! My name is Mary and I'm a professionally trained chef with experience in restaurants, country clubs, catering, and institutional cooking. I love to train young chefs in the "hows" and "whys" of cooking so every meal will be delicious! I thoroughly believe in hand on instruction, for cooking there is no other way. There is a ton of math, science, and creativity involved in cooking, so I try to feature those elements as well whenever I can. 
My sister is a teacher and I have learned a lot of good tips and tricks for introducing a love of literacy to young children! I enjoy reading aloud to my family and like to offer classes that involve reading and snacking! 
I enjoy having inquisitive learners in my classes, you will not find a class that's all PowerPoint or an all mute class from me. I love for students to ask questions, be curious, and make comments. I love to eat, travel, read, laugh, and spend time with my kids and family. I also am passionate about arts and crafts and love to get messy once in a while with glitter! 
If you have a child that's passionate about culinary arts please message me about one-on-one cooking lessons and/or sessions. I can also do private birthday parties where we can cook or bake together.
