This 4-course series covers the following topics through a sequence of learner-centered, inquiry-based, and teacher-supported activities that use models, investigative questioning, and mathematical relationships to help you discover the wonderful world of Chemistry. It is a unique and fun way to learn. No textbook required. The provided activities guide you to learn the concepts and the teacher instruction will complement and support the discovery process. The activities are used with permission from The POGIL Project. It is highly recommended to take the courses in order of Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, and then Unit 4. Each unit will provide important knowledge for the next unit. In addition to teaching the Unit 1 topics, the Unit 1 course will teach you how to approach the inquiry activities to optimize your learning. Topics: Unit 3 (this course): Chemical Reactions and Stoichiometry Class 1: Types of Chemical Reactions Class 2: Relative Mass and Mole Class 3: Mole Ratios Limiting and Excess Reactants Properties of Gases Class 4: Gas Variables Solubility and Solutions Class 5: Saturated and Unsaturated Solutions Solubility Class6: Molarity Other Courses: Unit 1 (a different course): Introduction to Chemistry: Fundamentals of Experimental Design Organizing Data Significant Digits and Measurement Significant Zeros Classification of Matter Unit 2 (a different course): Atomic and Electron Structure Isotopes Ions Average Atomic Mass Coulombic Attraction Electron Energy and Light Electron Configurations Periodic Table Cracking the Periodic Table Code Periodic Trends Ionic and Molecular Compounds Naming Ionic Compounds Polyatomic Ions Naming Molecular Compounds Naming Acids Molecular Geometry Unit 4 (a different course): Thermochemistry Calorimetry Bond Energy Equilibrium in Reactions Equilibrium Acids and Bases Acids and Bases Introduction Strong versus Weak Acids Calculating pH Oxidation and Reduction Oxidation and Reduction Reactions The Activity Series Batteries

Learning is so much fun and helping others learn is a passion of mine.
I have been teaching professionally for over 25 years. I have been very fortunate to have taught in four different countries in public, private, and online schools. My experience has allowed me to develop different teaching approaches, appreciate different learning styles, and acquire a portfolio of solid best practices to help you learn the subject material.
We all can learn, and we all want to learn. Sometimes support, direction, and instruction is needed for optimal understanding. I can provide that. I enjoy teaching and would love to help you.
I keep learning. Presently, I am trying to retain my French and Spanish, learn some Korean, and have gained a keen interest in learning how to code. It keeps my mind active.
Join me and we can learn together. I look forward to working with you.
