Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Learning to solve math problems involving scientific notations is essential in chemistry and other physical sciences. I will introduce students to scientific notation and discuss why scientific notation is used in chemistry. I will also demonstrate how to use the ‘EE’ button or the 'exp' button on a scientific calculator to input numbers in scientific notation.

I will be teaching using an online chalkboard, presentation slides and practice problems. Worksheet packet that goes along with the presentation and practice problems will be provided. It will be available in the classroom announcement section on the day before class. Students must print the handout before class; learners are expected to take some notes as they fill in the blanks on the handout. This class is an interactive class; when in doubt, students are encouraged to ask questions. I will be assisting students while they work.

The class recording will be available to enrolled students after attending the live session. This is meant to help learners review or catch up if they miss anything during class as the class may have diverse learners.

NOTE:
=>class may go over the allotted time (by 5 minutes or so) depending on the students/class composition
=>I will leave the zoom meeting if the student doesn't show up within the first 5 minutes.
=>Content of this class is included in the following course; please do not enroll in this class if you are taking the course titled High School Chemistry: Math Basics for Physical Sciences + Mole
