Description
Class Experience
I am a Science Teacher and I love teaching children science, especially chemistry. I am offering this class because I want to teach children how to use their scientific inquiry skills at an early age. Not only that, but this course will improve their reading and comprehension skills as well.
General Materials: Science Notebook, pencil, ruler Key Ingredient: Food Coloring (red, green, blue, orange, yellow and enough for five experiments) Activity: Milk Magic Chemistry * Full Fat Milk * Key Inggredient * Dawn Dish Soap * Cotton Swabs Activity: Erupting Lemon Volcano * Lemons (grab a few) and Limes too! * Baking Soda * Key Ingredient * Dawn Dish Soap * Plate, Tray, or Bowl * Craft Sticks Activity: Growing Sugar Crystals * Water * Sugar * Mason Jars * String * Edible glitter * Key Ingredient * Straws Activity: Exothermic Reactions * Hydrogen Peroxide * Warm Water * Yeast Packets {we used two packets for the three beakers} * Flasks or Plastic Bottles * Teaspoon and Tablespoon * Key Ingredient * Dish Soap * Tray or Container {to place bottles or beakers on to catch foam} * Small Cup {mixing yeast and water} Activity: Lava Lamp Experiment * Water Bottles * Eye Droppers * Funnel * Key Ingredient * Baby Oil * Water * Alka Seltzer Tablets
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
