Class Experience

Each week, students will write a brief (structured) report on that week's experiment and submit to the instructor for feedback. This will help them develop writing skills and help them to organize their thoughts.
Minimum number of supplies needed (more eggs can be used for each experiment, but I'm trying to minimize number of supplies needed to experience the science in each class)
Week 1: 2 eggs, food coloring, 1 tablespoon vinegar, water
Week 2: vinegar, 2 eggs, food that you already have in your house (we can work with a variety of things, and food scraps are ok too!)
Week 3: egg, cool whip or shaving cream, food coloring
Week 4: egg, baking soda, food coloring, vinegar
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
In this class, we will be working on dyeing hard boiled eggs. If students have an allergy to eggs but still wants to take this class, please contact the instructor to discuss alternatives. In week 2, we will be working with a variety of foods and spices- students can choose to not do any that may be a problem due to allergies or other issues. Some students may need help setting up and completing the experiments.
