This class is designed to provide an introduction to advanced chemical reactions. Many topics will be covered over this 5-week class that will give the student a basic understanding of acid-base reactions and reduction-oxidation or “REDOX” reactions. Students will have the opportunity to practice what they learn each week. I have taught chemistry and chemical engineering at the college level. I have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from M.I.T. and a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University. I have been teaching all disciplines of science to home school elementary, middle and high school students for 14 years. I know how to present science in a fun way to boost students interest in the subject.
Homework Offered
Each week a 1-2 page sheet of practice problems will be given for students to reinforce what they are learning in the class. These problems should take no longer than an hour.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
