Description

Class Experience

The students will learn:
How to prepare and draft out their idea for there edible art piece;
The basic kitchen skills needed to prepare their bread;  and
The basic baking skills needed to bake their bread. 
There is no home work required for this class.
For this class you will need: An oven Baking pan - either round , square or large rectangular works great. (if your making square or round you may need two) Mixing Bowls Mixing Spoon and/or spatula Measuring Cups and Spoons Kitchen Scale (optional) Parchment Paper Spray Oil Ingredients: NOTE: Please take a careful look at ALL ingredients used in the material list to verify that your child does not have any food allergens to the required ingredients. This recipe is dairy free, egg free, soy free and vegan. Dough: 2 cups of All Purpose or Bread Flour (250 g) 1/2 tsp fine salt 1/2 cup lukewarm water (240 ml) 1 1/2 tsp dry instant yeast 1/2 tsp sugar 2 T olive oil Brine: (this goes on top of the bread at the very end to keep bread moist and delivers lots of flavor) 5 T olive oil 3 T warm water 1/4 tsp salt 1-2 Garlic Cloves 2 T fresh rosemary chopped or (2 tsp of DRIED rosemary or oregano Salt flakes (optional) For the decorations you will need: a bunch of cilantro roasted pumkin seed 1 mushroom with stem on bottom a bag of mini peppers (usually oblong and comes in red/orange and yellow) Fresh Thyme (package) Small Jar of sliced kalamata olives or black olives
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The bakers will be be assessed throughout the process with suggestions given individually and as a group.  Each student will present their work of art at the conclusion of our class. 
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
An adult must be present for this lesson due to the nature of the lesson. We will be using an oven and also knives. 

Additionally, please be on time as this class is time sensitive due to the baking. Anyone who comes in over 10 minutes late will be asked to transfer to another upcoming class. Thank you.
