Class Experience

In this one time class we will make a jar gift set for our favorite dog(s) or dog lover. This gift is perfect for any dog lover who likes to bake. We will put all the dry ingredients in the jar, write down the recipe for the person receiving the gift and finalize the gift by tying on the cookie cutter and recipe. We will make one gift jar during class, but students will easily be able to make more after class by themselves. I will post the instructions to the classroom after class for them so they can remember what to do. While making the gift jar we will talk about our dogs and what we love most about them. After our jars are completed we will make a simple braided dog tug toy while continuing to share our dogs. This class is a way to learn how to make a fun gift and also have a chance to socialize about dogs. If you don't have a dog and are making it for a dog lover in your life, that is completely fine also! You can still tell us about your favorite animal or pet you have.

Please see the supply list below

Parental Guidance
Students will not be using the oven, as we will only be making the gift, not the dog biscuits. The only sharp items they will be using is scissors to cut the ribbon or string for tying the cookie cutter and recipe to the jar.
Supply List
Ribbon or string of choice for tying cookie cutter and recipe to jar
Paper for writing the recipe
1 quart size mason jar (with lid- screw on lid is fine)

box of cheez-its
baking powder
salt
a large mouth funnel is helpful in putting the ingredients in the jar, but not mandatory
measuring spoons for measuring out the ingredients into your jar
