In this 5 day FLEX camp cheerleaders will learn various motions, sideline cheers and a dance that they can showcase to their friends and family! This class caters to those with busy schedules by allowing you to take class at the most convenient time for you and those who simply do not prefer to take live classes by providing a fun, no pressure atmosphere! Each day will start off with 10-15 minutes of stretching and warming up our bodies. After stretches we will jump right into learning our motions for the day, slowly walking through each motion as they will be used in the sideline cheers and dance as well. After motions we will learn a sideline cheer and 1 eight count for the dance. I will end class by reviewing everything we have learned that day and what to work on after class. Each class will be approximately 1 hour long. Camp Schedule Day 1: Introduction of teacher, stretching, motions, 1 sideline cheer and 1 eight count for the dance Day 2: Stretching, motions, review sideline cheer from day 1 and learn a new cheer, review 1st eight count of dance before learning our second eight count Day 3: Stretching, motions, review sideline cheers from day 1 and 2 before learning a new cheer, review the first 2 eight counts before learning our third eight count for our dance Day 4: Stretching, motions, review the three sideline cheers we have learned so far before learning a new one, review the first 3 eight count we have learned for the dance before learning the 4th eight count Day 5: Stretching, review all of the motions we have learned, review the 4 sideline cheers we have learned before learning our last cheer, review the 4 eight counts we have learned for the dance before learning our final eight count. End with reviewing the dance (3 times) full out with music End of camp! All camp material for each day will be posted at 8:00 AM EST for cheerleaders to begin practicing the content we will be working on that day Homework: While there will be no required homework, cheerleaders are encouraged to post any pictures or videos in our classroom to showcase their progress and accomplishments! Additionally, if anyone has any questions or would like feedback please don't hesitate to reach out! Teacher expertise and credentials
I was a sideline and competitive cheerleader for 7 years total at the high school and collegiate level, performing at basketball and football games and the college UCA Nationals held in Florida. Throughout my time as a cheerleader I have led cheerleading camps for ages 3-10 and 14-18 as well as assistant coaching a middle school sideline team.
Fun fact: I competed at Disney World three times while cheering in college and placed 3rd in the nation!
