PROGRESS ASSESSED • Entering/exiting a conversation • Starting a conversation • Maintaining a conversation • Making and maintaining eye contact • Feeling comfortable enough to ask questions • Recognizing/reading/responding to verbal and nonverbal cues • Developing an individual voice Students will use their personal experience, prior knowledge, and skills learned from “Let’s Talk” to engage in conversation and make connections. Learning will take place through the ability to develop a comfort level discussing safe topics with what may be a rotating group of attendees. Students will have a chance to practice, and then demonstrate, their earlier class learning as they connect, bond with, and establish relationships with others who are familiar with their experiences and their struggles.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
