Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Beginner Level
Do you find that you have an active imagination and can create stories out of anything? Maybe you'd like to practice storytelling in a fun and imaginative way, without writing anything down!

We will overview the storytelling and plot concepts, while practicing our public speaking skills through a variety of games. In these games, we will practice with both nonfiction and fiction while creating stories without the standard "Once Upon a Time". We will be developing stories from pictures, comics, or themes, using story starters/endings, while in some games using the point of view or perspective of a person, animal, or inanimate object. Some games will be passed from classmate to classmate to build upon or add details, to work on transitions.

These games are quick, targeted, interactive games to promote public speaking in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, while becoming familiar with they way stories work. No background is required and homework is not given...although, you just might try the games at home with your family or friends when class is over.
