Description
Class Experience
The class is structured to begin with a short introduction of persuasive speaking and how it can be used in every day life and/or different careers. Students will have multiple opportunities to "Take the Floor" during our game, by creating 30 second commercials, sales pitches, and other impromptu persuasive topics. While students take their turn speaking, other students and myself will be looking for positive feedback to provide. No background is required and homework is not...
My undergraduate degree was in Communication Studies and I enjoy sharing a love of speaking with others, especially when we can have fun practicing together.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There will be a timer used as part of the game for each student. It is incorporated in the game challenge, and it is also to ensure students have equal amounts of talk time throughout our time together.
