You've heard of ChatGPT. You might have heard of other AI tools - like the AIs that can paint for you. But are they as great as the media wants us to believe? In this class we will dive into the various AI tools, with a special focus on ChatGPT. Learners will get hands-on experience using the tools, an understanding of the behind the scenes technologies, and the limitations of these technologies. Learners are expected to fact-check an essay written by ChatGPT as homework. Outline: Day 1 - Introduction to AI tools. We will also ask ChatGPT to write each of us an essay. Learners have until final session to fact check the essay and present their findings. Day 2 - Questions ChatGPT cannot answer! We will look at various questions that are easy for humans to answer, but where ChatGPT fails. Day 3 - Language Models is the technology used to create ChatGPT. Today we will take a look at this technology and learn about its possibilities and limitations. Day 4 - Potential real life consequences. What happens when people blindly trust these AIs? Day 5 - Learner presentations. Learners will present their fact-checking findings.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Fellow Learners!
My name is Mounir Shita - but you can call me Mo (trust me, it is scientifically proven to be easier to pronounce). I have been amazed and intrigued by thinking machines since I was a teenager. As an adult, I've made it my career to research and develop thinking machines.
I've spent over 20 years researching real thinking machines, built a lot of technology, started my own "AI" companies and even been involved in government "AI" programs.
In Outschool I hope to contribute to make you curious science, especially intelligent machines. I will teach classes ranging from introduction to artificial intelligence and thinking machines, to ethics (is it good or bad?) to teaching you how to build your own AI-powered games.
