I have taught this book over the last several years and students have loved it, we will briefly discuss the animal cruelty and death that are mentioned in a way that will make students feel more comfortable
Students will need to read each week, complete the comprehension and vocabulary assignments, and the culminating project at the end.
For this class, students will need paper, pencil, a copy of the book, and any materials they would like to use for a book report at the end. More specific materials required will be included in the announcement when starting the class so you have time to prepare.
Students will be assessed in the middle and at the end based on comprehension and vocabulary and given a letter grade to show their level of understanding.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
“Charlotte’s Web” talks about topics that may be too sensitive to some readers including but not limited to death and cruelty to animals. We will be using an outside resource in this class. Kahoot requires an account, but it is totally free.
