Class Experience

Dogs are one of the most popular family pets. They are so much more than cuddly companions and can be trained to perform many jobs that help people. We will learn about dogs' many talents and intelligence as well as their unique physical features as we play an interactive game featuring several popular Dalmatians for children. Pop-up "bone" rounds will have us all barking with laughter as we get a chance to act like dogs in a fun, party-like atmosphere. A craft will be completed during class and learners should come to class with supplies listed below.

Learning Goals

Students will help Charlie celebrate her birthday and the special qualities of dogs, which are near and dear to Charlie's heart. Fun, group interaction will fostered through age-appropriate learning and laughter. We will be using our creativity to craft a Dalmatian puppet from a cardboard tube.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Our youngest learners are super curious! I love teaching children about the world around them and engaging them in learning that matters to THEM, tapping into THEIR curiosities. I have over 15 years of teaching experience as a certified early childhood educator. I believe that children learn best through active hands-on learning that emerges from their own interests and allows for self-directed exploration and inquiry. I'm a mother of three (now adult) children and I enjoy crafting in my spare time and playing with our two dogs. I recently rescued a puppy and she's doing great!
