US Grade 3 - 6
Camp will start at the smallest building block for chemistry, the electron. From there, we will understand its relevance to creating atoms. We will link that atoms can represent different elements from the periodic table. Students will learn to calculate the amount of neutrons, protons and electrons in each element. We will understand the relevance of electron orbitals and the reasons why elements bond. Students will create individual atoms, molecules and calculate molar mass of these molecules. They will also identify what elements and quantities make up molecular formulas. Students will be given information to recognize and classify bonds. Finally students will be introduced to balancing chemical equations. This is a highly interactive camp that will help students understand major concepts in high school and college chemistry.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello future students!
I am a high school teacher with experience in Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra and Biology! I am a premedical student that transitioned to teaching. I have always succeeded as a hands on learner and hope to do the same for your student. I value learning is beyond lectures and reading material. We will saturate the topic with interaction as I facilitate your children’s inquiry in complex topics for the youngest levels.
I am also the JV basketball coach and Special Olympics liaison/coach for flag football, basketball and track. In the fall I am the head Pop Warner football coach for 5, 6 and 7 year olds. I am able to inspire my students and players be in the classroom and on the field or court.
