In this multi-day personal 1 to 1 tutoring class, I will work with my students to strengthen their skills in the English Language. As a teacher with 23 years experience in a classroom, I feel I can help my students by teaching to their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. In addition to my classroom experience, five years ago, I began working 1 to 1 with English Language Learners. I will personalize a learning program based on your child's academic needs. Students will begin learning the basic foundations of the English Language and then progress to strengthening reading skills. I will work with my students in teaching reading strategies and helping build on sentence structure. We will work on sight words that pertain to their grade level and continue to work to mastery on those words. My goal is to create an atmosphere in the classroom that helps students love to learn and strive to met and achieve beyond their goals. If students have issues with their homework, I am more than willing to assist them and help them complete homework successfully.
Learning Goals
Students will learn reading, grammar, spelling, and writing in a 1 to 1 setting.
