If there is one class you take on photography, this is the class. This is the secret sauce to a perfect photo. Ms. Shannon will go over the three key aspects to think about every time you take a photo. - The first part of the class, Shannon will share her secret recipe for the perfect photo. - Following the lesson, there will be a chance for the learner to practice what you learned. Please have a charged, internet-ready cell phone available. - The learners will then review and discuss the photos taken during class and answer any questions they may have. The techniques learned in this class can be used with a cellphone to a professional DSLR camera.

An internet-ready cell phone which has a camera app and space to take photos. Please use an alternative device to log into the class. Choose a subject to photograph. This can be a favorite stuffed animal, action figure, or even a family member.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am excited to share my passion for photography and entrepreneurship with students of Outschool. I have been a professional photographer for over 20 years, working in photojournalism, event, and editorial photography.
My background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Photojournalism and New Media from Western Kentucky University and a Masters in Education from Moreland University, with a focus on Globalization in Education.
Photography has allowed me to document some amazing events, people, and places. My favorite so far has been documenting events with President Bush and President Obama. I have also had the opportunity to travel across Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos leading photography trips for high school students. My work has been published in newspapers and magazines around the world.
In 2011, I moved to India with my husband and three cats where I started a photography and photo booth business. I currently work for the American International School Chennai as their Communications Director.
My other passions include henna body art, zines, and zentangle. I am also a self-proclaimed tea-connoisseur.
